Corvara in Italy is a popular holiday resort and a great place for hiking.
Until 1861, Corvara was part of the Abruzzo region and belonged to the Kingdom of Naples and the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. Since the 18th century the region, including Corvara, developed as a holiday resort attracting people with lung diseases and high income.
Today, Corvara is located in the "greenest area in Europe", surrounded by three major national parks, numerous nature reserves and washed by the winds of the Adriatic. The ecological state of the resort remains excellent to this day.
